I've been considering a double layer hammock with 1.1oz ripstop on the outside, and 5mm or 8mm silk habotai on the inside. Gain the comfort of silk, with the durability of nylon, and weight wise should be close to or less than a single layer 1.9oz or double 1.1oz.

Boston - have you gone down this path yet? I am considering doing the same.

Ive got the ripstop but dharma Is out of 55" 5mm habotai until september.
