Over the weekend I got some nice 10mm silk, threw on a basic roll hem. Whipped, hung, happy.
Rewhipped to see if I could get more flat - this time with zip ties - must have pinched some material (?) cause after 2 minutes of hanging I was welcomed by the ground very suddenly and there was a large exit hole on the foot end of my hammock. If I cut off the end I'll loose at least 14" of length and it'll be very (too) short The rip originated at the zip tie :P probably shouldn't have used zips on silk. Oh well, worst part is I got all set up with some tea and a good book to hang around reading.
What DIY gear projects would you guys use (around 3 yards) of silk for?
