too each his/her own. My swag isnt my friends swag. took me 5 nights or more to find mine.

For me, I tend to hang loosely, but tight enough that the ridgeline has little or no sag.

I use a strap hammock suspension with a carabiner on the end and cinch buckles. If I do it right, I can attach my tarp ridge line to the carabiner, eliminating the need to go around the tree with it. Since I've done it this way so much, I can tell how tight the hammock has to be, based on the distance between the trees, to put my tarp at the right height above the hammock.

I used to set mine up with the ridgline very tight, but I know I hang it much looser, it will make no difference to the sag as the ridgline is set in the factory.

I could be wrong but I feel that it does not matter how tight or loose you tie the suppensions lines. (Pull it real tight or let it hang)

Once you get in and your body weight pulls the hammock body down and the ridgeline tight then the amount of sag will be set. You cannot change it.

Correct. The forces get multiplied quite a bit although It's almost impossible to realistically get below 20* suspension angle.

I'm more worried about the tiny ridgeline rather than the suspension ropes.
