I'm looking to buy a tarp thats at least 10' long, and width isn't as important.
Looking for something cheap since its my first tarp and i'm not sure what I want.

If you live near an REI and just want something cheap you can pick up a rectangular 10x8....that was the tarp I started off with and it did pretty well.....only real problem with it is weight (made out of a pretty thick material but you wouldn't have to worry about water coming through) and no cat cuts so it flops around in the wind a little bit.
NOT LIGHT, but cheap and has good coverage. The SG 12x12.
Trust nobody!
See my posting in the 4 Sale forum for a Claytor Tarp. It is 9.8 feet long.
If all you want is a practice tarp, check out Big Lots for a "blue tarp". they come in a variety of sizes & are way cheap. Not totally waterproof & rather heavy, but a good place to start.
Also known as a 10' x 10' tarp, the measurment is the tarp before adding the hem. Like a "Quarter pounder" hamburger is the weight "before cooking".
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
