Thanks everybody for your kind comments. I am ready to go back out there and do it again, but will probably have to wait until the fall. A friend of mine wants to go as well, but he really wants to hike the whole trail in under three days time. I'm not sure I'm going to sign up for that, I think I'm getting too old.

I had taped a blister with duct tape. The duct tape stuck to the sock and wore through it. There was a pretty big hole in the sock. So what you see is part duct tape, part skin.
