Yet another Fronkey Net, minor mods

So the saga of the big mouthed hammock give away continues...

It started with making a pair of tablecloth hammocks for a niece and nephew and has ballooned into 25-30 hammocks for friends and family.

Finally started making deliveries, 9 delivered to date and already the requests are rolling in for accessories.

Accessory number one, bug nets. Mom's don't want my nephews and nieces hanging without bug protection. So thanks to Fronkey, Cryptic Cricket and many others here for the inspiration, a trip to WallyWorld for the Mainstays Black Sheer Voile Curtains @ $4.98ea and the fun begins.

My engineer brother in law was not satisfied with simple seams, so off we go with flat felled seams, grosgain reinforcement at the openings, pull tabs to attach the net to the cinch buckles with a little shockcord loop and Bob's your uncle.

Well satisfied with the work, it was tested by the 7 year old and the 6'4" 300lb hammock building committee members and approved. Had to install a ridgeline on the kids hammock, 1 down, 15 more to go..argh.

And just when I thought the evening was over, the 7 year old remarks, "Unclle Peter. It's raining outside. Sure would be nice to be able to lay in my hammock right now, can you build me a shelter?"

TARPS ?!?! Are you kidding me. I'm trying to figure out a decent stuff sack and kid wants a tarp? Sigh, and it won't be just one...

Yes the hammock has been treated with permethrin to protect exposed area.

    Before shockcord

    The keep it simple solution.

Just slips over top of the cinch buckle, easily removed.

Im sorry Rat Dog, but this just makes me laugh. Way to go though, you are an excellent man for doing all this for the kids! Gets them out and enjoying the outdoors. That is a great thing!

    Keep up the great work!

    Everything looks really nice.

Yeah, laugh it up DP lol

It's awesome giving away hammocks, only hurts a little when buying all the supplies.

Make sure to use a long enough piece of cinch cord so you can stretch the net over either end of the hammock.

Only works if you leave it square, not if you trap cut it.

Good on you for hooking up the family with hammocks and stuff... But I'd be putting a "materials only" price on the ones for any adults.

Mainstays brand voile curtains, you say... Hmmm... the ones I saw online were ~84", any issues with them being too short?

Yet another Fronkey Net, minor mods

The pics are of 2 of the 84's stitched together.

They also have a 216 same width as the 84's so it won't help unless you have a really long hammock.

As for the adults, home cooked meals are the usual payment so I do alright.
