    Advice for suspension set up

    Hi there,

I'm thinking of changing my suspension setup and was hoping to get some ideas/advice. Right now I just use ENO's atlas straps with the stock rope and biner attached to my doublenest. However, I would like to put together a lighter weight setup. I've read a fair bit about whoopie slings and I think I'll make a pair for myself, and I also like the idea of the whoopie clips.

The downside of that setup is that I will no longer have a biner to easily attach my ridgeline and my dog's hammock (yes he's spoiled and has his own hammock which I hang directly under mine).

How do people attach their ridge lines if they don't have some sort of clip to attach them to? And does anyone have an idea for how I should hand my pup's hammock under mine? Any advice or alternative suspension ideas are welcome!

    Here's waht I would do:
Make a continuous loop of amsteel, feed that throught the end channel of your hammock and larkshead it.
Use a Dutch biner to attach the continuous loop to the fixed eye of the whoopie sling.
Connect your dog's hammock to the Dutch biner.
A structural ridgeline can simply be larkheaded around the continuous loop or you can feed the continuous loop you made through the fixed loop of the ridgeline after it exits the end channel but before you complete the larkhead of the continuous loop.
Don't let life get in the way of living.

I don't know about the dog hammock, but for the ridgeline, check this out.

I hadn't thought of attaching the ridge line more permanently like that but I suppose it makes perfect sense if you don't need to take it on and off a lot. The Dutch biner would probably work better than the hook as well. Too bad the hook can't hook onto two loops of amsteel. I think I just like them because they are so unique and I guess a little lighter (not that 14 grams would make a big difference). I love little bits of hardware gear.
