    Hang/Paddle in Tampa Bay area

Heading to St. Pete next month and would like to get in an overnight paddle and hang. Any suggestions on hanging opportunities? If they include a kayak, all the better.

A bump for OldMart. He is looking for help on where to take his little one kayak camping with his hammock in hand.

Cockroach Bay has nice kayaking, not sure if you can camp but I saw some tents out on an island. The trails go through mangroves and open up looking at the Skyway bridge.

Recently relocated to St Pete-would be interested in places to hang nearby. Newbie to hanging.

I can't guarantee that you would have a great spot to hang (but I'm pretty sure you could find something) but I would recommend Anclote Key. Anclote key is a mile or two off of the coast and only accessible by boat so you would have to be comfortable doing some semi-offshore paddling (I've done it before and it was not a problem at all). There are a couple of other islands (Honeymoon... I think... and another) and I think they are all state parks. You could look at the state park web page and contact them ahead of time.

Maybe, that is a county park and it tends to either be full or fill up fast. I would definitely call before you solidify your plans.

    Hang/Paddle in Tampa Bay area

Off shore paddling is not a problem. But are there any trees to hang from?
