WTB - DWR Ripstop for tarp (Magna Fabrics?)

I am looking to buy material to make a 3 or 4 season tarp with cat-cuts, possibly with products from Magna Fabrics.

The downside to Magna Fabrics is that you need to buy in bulk, which I don't necessarily need 35+ yards of DWR and coated nylon.

Has anyone thought of splitting an order of their fabric? Granted the cost of shipping will be paid twice (once for the bulk, and second time for everyone's portion).

Just curious if anyone has done this or is interested - the fabric I am looking at right now is http://store.magnafabrics.com/produc...&product=34236

Anyone else made tarps out of their products before?

I bought some 1.1 ACU camo fabric from them a while back. It was advertised as 3rd quality, but it should work just fine as the defects seem limited to the selvage only (which I would trim anyway). I bought it to make a tarp also--just haven't done it yet. I plan on making my own silnylon with it. You do realize the fabric in your link isn't waterproof?

Didnt look that close, but with being DWR with an additional coating on it, I thought it would be close. Any recommendations?

DWR fabric is definitely not waterproof. I used and would recommend silnylon 2nds from diygearsupply

+1 on this. Get coated and get happy.

And that camo is very nice from red's link, diygearsupply. Not very light, but nice.

I just got some silnylon from Quest Outfitters. They had pretty good prices and a bit more variety than I found at some of the other places.
