    hi friends....
just signed up because im really getting into this hammock camping thing. i love the idea of how much more compact and lighter i can camp over my old tent set up.

so heres where i am know, been getting alot of great info off youtube.

i have an ENO doublenest hammock that im currently just using 9' web strapping similar to slapstraps. im liking the whoppie sling for suspension but you still need tree straps for them to work.

what i need help with is the best rainfly and options for attaching to the tree.

For tarps outdoor equipment has 4 diferant sizes of the same style that are pretty light and very functional I have a deluxe in my pack.

If you have some extra money laying around you can get a Cuban fiber tarp from hammock gear and chop the weight down to a quarter anyone else can do.

And as to connection dutchware has the fastes and easiest system I've seen.

This can be duplicated cheaper by tying in permanent loops ( alpine butterfly / figure eight on a bight) and tieing truckers hitches. But dutch's system takes about a third of the time and is EZ PZ Japanesey

    Hello from Corpus Christi.

I use synthetic webbing with a loop sewn in one end for tree straps. I tie a marlin spike hitch in this webbing and attach my woopies/hammock to that. Pretty straight forward and simple. Super EZ DIY project for both straps and woopies.

Tree straps are a must. They protect tree bark from your weight as you hang. There are many ways to connect your whoopsies to the straps. Marlin spike knot with toggles is simple and easy to DIY.

Yeah you still need tree straps but they don't have to be nearly as long. You can get away with 4 or 5 feet. Mine are six
