I know I sat down VERY slowly the first time I hung on Amsteel. It is kind of unnerving looking at such small diameter rope, but it REALLY DOES work.

Amsteel has a 1500# breaking strength. Without knowing you, I am pretty sure you will be safe with it.

I hated the stretch of the stock lines. I found myself sitting in the hammock for 2 min then adjusting to take up the new slack sitting down again and repeating the process 2 or three more times. I am picky about how I hang so when I get it dialed it needs to stay there. Those lines now have a new duty and the polyester straps and whoopies have taken over. No stretch and rapid adjustments make them my go to suspension.
