Why Didn't I Do This Sooner?

Well a couple weeks ago, i took the plunge and orderd a Warbonnet Ridge Runner hammock. I wanted to save a few dollars so I ordered one of the available hammocks with a blemish.

Well Santa Mailman Clause delivered it today...

And without a tree to hang it from I headed over to one of the walking trails on the William and Mary campus to try it out...

Set up was a breeze! For my first time I couldnt believe how easy it was. Everything went together perfectly. Then I got in the hammock...

And to quote Mr. Shug, "wwwwwwoooooo buddy!" It was bliss, it was heaven. It was though I was in my own bed. I could very comfortably lay on my back, and easily lay on either side as well. This may seem funny but one of the things that I found so comfortable was that the spreader bar reminded me of my bed's headboard. I know it is silly but that nothingness at my head in my tent was rather unpleasant; nevermind that camping on the ground was getting more uncormfortable. I know that I nodded right off for a little bit.

Good thing security didnt find me

Oh, and I know I bought a blemished hammock, but I cannot find anything blemished about it. I am pretty happy.

I tried the Ridge Runner at the last group hang in Colorado Springs...blown away is an understatement. I will be ordering one as soon as I can afford it.

That looks super comfy! Do the bars at the ends break down for packing or are they a fixed length?

Yes the bars break down. The foot bars are two sections and the head bar is three sections. Of the 5 pieces, the longest is 20 1/2 inches and the shortest is 6 inches.

the head is three sections the foot two. the head spreader is two equal length sections with a third smaller section that you can leave out. you can also use hiking poles with adapters from warbonet.

Cool, this is also on my possibility list along with a db and xlc...i'll probably just get all of them with time lol. How much of a price cut did you get for going with a blemish if you don't mind me asking? I ask because I'm considering doing the exact same thing.

I received a $40 (roughly 20%) discount. Contact Warbonnet directly for availability and blemish pricing because I am sure that may vary a bit. I am very happy with my puchase And cannot see what made the hammock blemished.

Being a camper on a budget I check in from time to time with warbonnet just to see what blemishes they have. Just email Brandon, hes fairly prompt to respond.
