Help the noob:wbbb xlc vs dangerbird

Hey guys looking for a little input on my first hammock...I've narrowed it down to this. First the stats: I am 6 ft. 210lbs.
I am torn between the dangerbird and wbbb xlc. I like the wbbb because it has the built in shelf and footbox...the added visibility the outdoors isn't bad either. I like the dangerbird because I wouldn't have to completely remove or even leave the hammock to change the netting out with the cover. Does anyone have any opinions they would like to share? Also if anyone has any advice on fabric type and thickness it would be appreciated. Also...one question about the dangerbird...does it have any sort of relief (like the footbox on the wbbb) for laying at an angle? Thanks for the input and sorry for being long-winded!

You are certainly eye balling two top notch systems there. I don't know if any could say with absolute certainty that either is better than the other for any reasons than what you've already mentioned.

Help the noob:wbbb xlc vs dangerbird

I can't talk to the dangerbird, but I enjoy my xlc 1.1 double layer. I am about the same size as you. I went with the double layer because I hate getting bit through the bottom layer and I don't always have bottom insulation when sleeping here in the south. I doubt you can go wrong with either choice. Enjoy!

I have a thunderbird which is very clolse to the dangerbird. My brother has a xlc. Both hammocks are outstanding. I perfer the thunderbird as it has the solid cover and a bug net. I like that feature and for an 11ft hammock it packs down tiny.

    Thumbs up Two excellent choices

There are a few direct comparisons here in the forum from members that lay in both. Both are high quality products, sometimes the final preference goes to the WBBB or to the DHDB. You should look out for reviews/comments of persons that are like you (height, weight, preferences).

This is just one sample : https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=55595

They are both asym and will allow a flat diagonal hang. It seems that the wider build of the DB compensates the lack of foot-box and the ridge-line organizer and bags for the shelve.

The Dangerbird can be build in many fabrics and Papasmurf is open minded to custom work if its doable within his quality standards. His order processing, response-time and after-sales service are top level
