I have a Treklight double with a different color along the sides. If it's a bit sunny, I can use some short clothes pins to close the top. I think the seam makes it possible for it to close like a lid. A regular hammock would be rounded.
No end channels. I fan folded at about 1.5" to 2" (don't recall now) and against logic, the fan fold starts facing down like towards the ground first. There is some info at one of these links. I think we've talked about before?https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=52163

I'm not doing end channels on any of my hammocks anymore. Waste of time IMHO. If the material is more narrow like my ugly camo, then I'm just hand gathering without a lot of perfection. If it's wide, than attention needs to paid more to that. I now also use a sheet bend to tie knots with the suspension (which is a loop of sewn mule tape with rings) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJlE...BF38C4F1FA282F On the tree portion is now seat belts. I've changed everything around from what it was. I do take one whoopie with me in case I need to extend some length some where, but I've not needed it yet.
