I blame this all on you guys, and gals

Had yesterday off, had all my materials (finally) all in the same place. Was happy with the operating condition of the thread injector. Time to go to work! Here are the fruits of yesterday's labors as inspired by you all. It's a little rough as a first run but I learned a ton just in constructing this one for the first time and may be making one for my younger brother and possibly one for a cousin. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...p?albumid=2983

That's a nice set up you have there. I like to think I learn from my mistakes, but then again if I learned from ALL of my mistakes I'd be a genius.
Happy Trails to one and all.

Too true. We'd all be PhD's at the very least. I'm excited to take this thing out on an actual trip but I still want to get myself a bugnet and rain tarp added in to the mix before I try it. Back to the forums I go, and various seller's websites.

Great job! Check out the Fonkey bug net, cheap and easy to make. As for a tarp you can always pick up a cheap one at walmart to get you by until you get a hammock tarp. Be sure to post a report of your first trip out there with it

Saw his method. Think I prefer Lost_Biker's more as I can make it from much less material thus keeping the weight down as well as the stuff volume. Now to find a place closer to home where I can hang it so I can pin the bugnet and not have to travel with a spiky mess of hammock, netting, and pins.
