    DIY bug net---so simple !

I used the YouTube video "DIY bug net cheap and easy" and ended up making 2 bugnets this afternoon. The best part? It cost me $11 for each bug net. When I use it next, I will post a picture. I just want to shout Thank You!!! to CrypticCricket and Fronkey.

I made one last night. I don't think it's going to be big enough for my hammock to fit in, but my daughter loves it.

Any idea what the weight is on this bad boy?
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

Mine ended up weighing 7 1/8oz. I agree that it's very, very strong material. It's pretty compressible too. It isn't very breathable, so it could be too much on a hot night, but I bet it holds heat on a cold one.

Oh wow! That is a good amount lighter than mine, around 3oz!

Yeah, but it's shorter too, I'll bet. It's 84" (7') long. I undid all of the chanel stitches on mine just so I could get a nother couple of inches out of it, and it's still too short for my hammock. I'm going to make my daughter's hammock short enough to fit into it though so that it doesn't go to waste. You could maybe use the waste scraps to make the ends longer where it doesn't need to be full height...

The really nice part about this material was how easy it was to work with. Walmart also had a "window scarf" made of the same stuff which was about 240" long iirc. It cost three times as much but it might just be enough material for an adult sized hammock.

mine is longer than a WBBB by a bit- you have to make sure you sew along the lengths first, not the widths or you get a 7 foot one that is too wide.
