I've actually looked up a bunch of online reviews of them becuase I was thinking about getting one for a camp towel......turns out they suck hardcore....regular shammies are supposed to be much better....the streak really bad and have a hard time soaking up liquid when they are totally dry for some odd reason. Another thing that is funny is the coverup they did in the infomercial. When he spills the soda on the carpet at first its shows the soda coming out a bit at the edges. It then cuts and there is suddenly no soda coming out the sides of the carpet.

Edit: **** you mustard....don't even get me started on the slap chop : D

Edit: Why the heck does he have to wear that stupid mic......it's so annoying. Your not at the state fair anymore ><

All shammies work better when first soaked then rung out. For drying your car soak it, ring it out then open it up and lay it out flat on the hood, windshield etc and pull it across the area you are drying for a truely streak free finish job. If you just ball it up like a rag/towel it will NEVER work. Try it.

If you use rings, why do you need drip strips?

Ya....unless your rings are sticking out of your tarp (which means your tarp is too small) then they should be stopping every bit of water that makes it that far.......hell my slippery half hitch probably stops it before it even makes it to the rings.

When I did my sink test, water went by the rings. Now, maybe water won't come down the straps that fast in the field, but if God turns on the faucet, I'll be ready!

So don't sugarcoat it, how do you really feel about the slap chop?

Anyway, I use one of these and the work great. http://swimx.stores.yahoo.net/sammy.html I know there are other fake chamois cloths out there but I don't have any experience with them.

Just go to Trail Days. The MSR reps are always giving out those little bitty sized Pack Towels. Free = Good.
    Trust nobody!
