    OES 12x10 Winter Tarp

So I was in the market for a big ole' honkin tarp for both winter use and summer use when I'm hanging two hammocks close together. I hemmed and hawed and considered several possibilities, until I saw RAW's 12x10 winter tarp from Brian.

    I had to have it!

RAW's original thread discussing his tarp is here:
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=4600

But I couldn't leave well enough alone. I had Brian add six additional tieout points, basically in the center of each of the large cat cuts. This will give me the ability to hang the tarp with a 10' ridgeline and six foot sides, very convenient for two-hammock hangs. It'll also give the ability to do baker's hut style pitches, as well as a few other nifty tricks I've dreamed up.

I have my dissertation defense next Tuesday, so I will not get a chance to set the tarp up and demonstrate the different pitches for a little while, but I will be home free after the defense, so I promise to post lots of pictures as soon as I've got time for a breather.

Thanks Brian for making one sweet tarp!

It'll be at least another week, sorry guys :-P

I passed my dissertation defense, but have a lot of paperwork to do to get the dissertation submitted to the graduate school. Once that's over, though, lots of pics will be posted! Promise!

    Hey Mustardman,
I have an OES 10 x 12 grey rectangular tarp. Man, Brian does a nice job with the tie outs. This baby has held up in some pretty strong winds here lately.
I never thought of using the tarp the other way for a 2 hammock hang. Sweet idea. I also enclose mine like a Warbonnet "Super Fly". I put velcro on the ends to seal the door flaps shut. Plus, it's nice just to have a big rainfly to sit under on rainy afternoons.

Mustardman can you please post a photo of how the extra tie outs are sewn on. I placed an order w/ Brian for a 12x10 speer winter tarp copy. I like the idea of extra tie outs in the middle of the 12 side, so i can use it as a ridge line going the other way but want to see a photo of the tie out first. thx!

Thought I would update this with a link to some pictures of the tarp. See more info at:
