I'll be there, most likely with Chickadee. You can bet that Doctari will be, too. Maybe we can stay the whole weekend this year.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
I would like to join in. Who's in charge?
Slowhike and I are working on the planning for this hang. There will be an official info thread soon, and shortly thereafter a sign-up spreadsheet. But first, I suggest you read Doctari's posts from previous years and here. Test out your winter camping gear as much as you can, and don't hesitate to ask any questions you have. All are welcome at Mt. Rogers, as at any hang. In winter we try to be extra conscious of everybody's welfare, so know that if you get cold, thirsty, hungry, tired, confused, or even just puzzled by something it's your responsibility to say so to the first person you see. Glad you're interested. It's a great place, and a fine group of people.
Having read his thread I was quite impressed with its thoroughness, I believe I am prepared for sub zero weather and this will be the perfect opportunity to make sure in as safe an environment as possible. Thanks to all of you for putting this together
I also posted this over in the "Hypothermia" thread. Very interesting August hike:

So, who is coming?
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
Plus I just got the HF Wandering Staff and need to pass it on.
Scars are tattoos with better stories.
To reinforce what Doctari stated about the weather, here is a picture of one of the signs from last years hang. In addition to snow shoes, gators and boot spikes are a must.
