Hehe, that's what my hunting buddies tell me.
A bear will walk by our camp, hear me snoring and figure the camp is already occupied by another bear.
But I've had plenty of critters in camp while asleep and other wise. I'm just barely getting into hammock camping, but until now I prefer sleeping outside with just a tarp over head. I once spilled some skittles near our bags but it was too dark to see them. No matter, the mice cleaned them all up during the night. One time I woke up before my friends and watched some birds swoop down on them to pluck hair from their heads for nesting material.
Loosing most of your food 3 days into a week long trip is not fun. I tend to cook and hang my food 100 yards downwind from where I am sleeping if possible. Only had trouble with a hang once and that was because it was too low to keep it out of the bears reach.
