    Tarp Tensioners for Spinntex

I just recieved a feathery-light package from OES, contained therein was a Spinntex Macat Deluxe. What is the consensus on tarp tensioners for spinntex, needed or not? I have 1.8mm Lash-it for guy outs with theraband tensioners installed, leave 'em on?

I've also been using paracord to tie to the tree. The 1.8 Lashit is strong enough but of too small a diameter for knots, IMO. What would the LW gurus recommend?

Generally, for the SpinnUL tarps, sag isn't nearly as much of an issue. From what I've heard and experienced, you should be good with just straight line. I generally recommend a 2-3mm line, something like Marlow Excel Pro 2mm or something similar. Spyderline is also a good alternative.

    Glad you like the tarp

Take-a-Knee, nice new addition to the kit. Have been really happy with the MC Spinntex DeLuxe.

Out of ignorance initially placed tarp tensioners on the OES Spinntex tarp. I suppose maybe under real gusty conditions the tensioner may absorb some of the stress, but otherwise no need. Removed them and replaced the lines with some lighter ones. Tarp has stayed relatively tight during and after windy rainy nights. No need for tensioner makes Spinntex tarps a few more grams lighter than a similar silnylon tarp. Also one less thing to break.

For the ridgeline tie outs have been using the line available from JRBs. Not sure of the break strength. Prior to packing for winter storage the line still looked to be good shape.

    take-a-knee,
I was looking at some of my daughters hair ties and man I think they wouldn't be to bad as a tarp tensioner.

Maybe tensioners on one side to take the slack as the trees sway.
