The lightest hyperlite hammock? Modifications?

I just wanted to see what any of you did to lighten up your hyperlight.

So far mine is working great except the small 20D rainfly I have to be picky where I hang or else rain will enter at both ends of hammock since the fly does not cover it completely.

So one of the choices was changing the rainfly for the explorer (add6oz) or the hex(add10.3oz).

If I can get the hyperlite lighter then I can upgrade the fly and still be at about 2lbs.

The final choice would be buying another mosquito netted hammock and hex fly setup (tadpole?) to stay within the 2lb weight.

Swap out the HH 2" straps for some 1" straps. Swap out the suspension ropes for some Whoopies or UCRs.

Tarp like the tadpole would work. A Hammockgear or Zpacks cuben tarp if you don't mind paying for it.

the Hyperlight rope is about same thickness as whoopies don't think there is much savings there. HH UL hammocks have the thin rope.
Useing standard 1 inch webbing for tree straps would cut down some though.

I recommend arrowheads tree straps. there very well made.

Probably some if you can use dynaglide in UCR form. Its about as light as a suspension can get. Maybe even use Mule Tape straps. I'll look for Sgt. Rocks video on this system but even with Ti whoooie hooks his came in at around 2oz for hooks x2, UCRs x2, & Mule Tape tree straps x2. That's if I remember correctly. Remove and weigh the stock ropes and straps to compare.

Weigh your tarp and compare it to Hammock gear's standard cuben @ 6.5oz.

To help with your current tarp, you can still keep out the rain without changing anything or adding any weight by using your poncho, assuming you have a poncho.

You can use it as a modified beak to either end. Just slide your tarp to cover what you need and hang your poncho on the other side to cover the rest.

This is a temp solution until you upgrade or if you don't want to change your setup.
