MacCat Deluxe is on my list. Or a rectangle "straight" tarp from OES.

I'm a big fan of the hex tarps. I have several of the OES MacCats and really like them. They all fit fine over the Blackbird. You could always go with Warbonnet's "Big Mambajamba". I think they are about $110 and are the same size as the Superfly, but do not have doors or sidewall tie-outs.

I keep forgetting Brandon makes tarps, since I don't have one yet. That has to be rectified.

I have a 12x11 cat cut winter style tarp, and ordered the MacCat Deluxe - but it was a close call between that and the MacCat Standard. I liked the idea of having a white tarp for summer, and not having that extra few square feet of tarp to carry around.

I am leaning towards the Blackbird hammock with a MacCat Deluxe or big mamajamba tarp. I was thinking about getting the 1.1 dark grey. Does anypne know the difference between the 1.1 and 1.7? Any preferences of in these two types of tarps?

Those are hammock material weights, not tarp material. They are all sil (except Brian at OES's Spinn; crazy light) which is going to come in around 1.1oz/yd.

Are the 1.1 hammocks just as durable as the 1.7 hammocks then, just a stroger lighter material?

Well 'durable' is going to be related to the fabric weight I imagine. Kind of like which is more durable jeans or dockers? I don't see the 1.1 being fragile, but the 1.7 is going to take a bit more abuse. Especially if you are pushing the weight limits of the 1.1. Biggest factor for me is how much they stretch under my weight. It reduces the comfort factor for the hammock IMO. If you are a skinny kid go with the 1.1, if you're a fat kid (that would be me) go with the 1.7.

    good advice

material is based on bodyweight, and preferences toward more durable or lighter weight.

is that how much his spin ul weighs? sil is usually 1.3-1.4 finished weight.
