    Suspension Straps

I may be the only one who isn't a huge fan of the new adjustable suspension straps on my Blackbird (I simply can't adjust it easily... It takes an act of Congress to lower one side). So, I've decided I might as well upgrade the suspension.

Two questions immediately come to mind:

    1. Can it be done?
    2. Can I do it?

    Then the distant third:
    3. What's the best on the market?

I'd greatly appreciate feedback on what's worked well for others.

What kind of problems are you having? The WB strap suspension is about as easy as it gets?
It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit

It is really easy to swap out the suspension.

I'll let others tell you what is best suspension on the market. It is a matter of opinion.

I have the buckle/strap system and there is nothing easier to use.
Here is a video by Brandon, owner of Warbonnet Outdoors on how to change the suspension

I had the same problem with the native buckles. I just couldn't use them as easily as everyone on the you tube videos. I went with dutch's cinch buckles

    http://dutchwaregear.com/cinch-buckle.html

They are they are plug and play, no instructions, they just work. Just remember to tie a half hitch after you set your height, as they don't self lock.

Or you could go with whoopies. And it's ok if you don't know what whoopies are, I went a good month in the beginning reading about whoopies and scratching my head. They are a sort of known quantity that everyone takes for granted knowing about.

So for anyone reading this that wants to know what whoopies are. They are infinitly adjustable lengths of rope. By threading one end through the weave of itself they make a sort of Chinese finger trap that locks the rope after you adjust it. This way you can adjust it and add tension without tying or untying any knots.

I was under the impression you don't need a back up knot with dutch's cinch buckle. In fact it says as much on his site. Have you found otherwise?

I have the Warbonnet buckles on one hammock and the ones from Dutch on another hammock. Have not used a back up slippery hitch on either one.
    Couldn't hurt though...

I literally guarantee you that you don't have to use a back up knot for the Dutch Buckle.
