I started my summer off camping at Wildcat Mountain State Park. The park is located in the "driftless" area of Wisconsin.
A large portion of the trail was closed for logging operations. However the barricade on the end of the trail where I started was missing. By the time I finished hiking the trail I had a real good idea what they mean by "logging operations". The trail was a mess.
I did get a chance to try out my homemade hammock as an undercover/equipment shelf. It worked great. Having socks and shoes, and other gear just an arms reach away was very handy.
