Help: Trouble sewing webbing

Success! I pretty much took an all-of-the-above approach with the suggestions in this thread. I cleaned the machine. I started with a fresh bobbin, checked the thread tension, and installed a brand new jean needle. I went slow and steady and had no problems. I wasn't able to pinpoint if any single remedy did the trick, but I now have hanging straps and I'm officially ready to hang.

Thank you all for the tips, and a special thanks to Ramblin Rev. Without your videos, I probably wouldn't have made my own hammock. It's incredibly satisfying to finish a DIY project.

Next up: DIY reptilian skins. And if I have any issues, I'll know where to turn.

I had similar issues on my machine. I found that I was getting the tag ends of the tread fed back in under the material and getting wrapped up in the bobbin. Also, on my machine there is a stich tention adjustment wheel. I needed to put more tention in to the stiches. That really solved the problem for me.
