Or, go past the Yearling trail ~ a mile or so to FR10. Go left for 2 miles into Pat's Island parking. From Parking, go to the right about 100 yards and go left on the FT. Go to the FT and go South to Hidden Pond about 3-3 1/2 miles.
Thanks Floridahanger, that will be helpful when I am getting myself situated down there.

Here's a link to Google Maps for Pat's Island.

    Hope it helps!

Might try the Yearling trail this time. Any idea how safe overnight parking is?

Oh you of little faith. Of course I will be there. Please add me to the list of attendees!!
I'm back from the great north and waiting for the weather to break.
Thinking a moto commute to this event might be in order.

Not sure. I do know that they (at least used to) have signs there saying not to park overnight, though.

I was thinking of the Hidden Pond Short trail which starts at the intersection of FR33 and FR76 (29.225798,-81.727266)

Not sure I'll be able to make it, but I'm going to try and get out for at least Friday night to Saturday midday.

I've never been up to Hidden Pond so a quick question for those who have:
I'm thinking about riding my bicycle up, if not for this event then for some future weekend escapes, and wanted to see if anyone knows about the condition of Hidden Pond Short. It appears to be a dirt access road that intersects the Florida Trail right near Hidden Pond. I know I can't bike on the Trail but I was hoping I might be able to ride into the Pond instead of parking at Juniper Springs and hiking in. So, does anyone know if Hidden Pond Short is bikeable? I have hybrid tires, somewhere between road tires and mountain bike tires.

Not sure of the condition of the trail, but I can say that some of the forest road sections you'll run across back there might be difficult with hybrid tires. I rode into the 3rd Annual FL Hang this past January, and struggled in the last hundred meters or so of road--on a beach cruiser with balloon tires. The sugar sand was a bit much in spots. YMMV, though.

Plus that road isn't maintained anymore, so there's quite a few fallen trees you might have to portage.
