The MAHHA is in the NE.

Now HC4U, not only were you checking out Betty Lou Boone in math class (much to the detriment of your retention of trigonometric identities), she must have been in your geography class too. 'cause MAHAA (the MA spelled out slowly, stands for MID-ATLANTIC) is in Maryland. Which, if Betty Lou Boone had not also been in history class, you would have learned was so Southern in culture that during the War Between the States it was under military occupation to keep it in the North. So in geography class, if you'd been looking at maps rather than you know who, you'd see that the southern most state commonly thought of as being in the Northeast would be New York. You're home free as you include CT, Mass., NH, VT, and of course Maine. <grin>

GOLFER---if you call it, I might come. Love those Northeastern hills. Lived in NH for seven years.

    Hey Jason,
Do you have any pics of Betty Lou Boone? <jk>

I need to get more experience under the belt before I call that one grizz. But when I do I'de love to. Was hoping that there was more experienced guys up this way to learn from, cause I'm not sure where to go near me. My brother is the big hiker in the family and he lives in New Hampshire, litchfield to be exact. He is the one organizing our hike in the white mountains. Hope to meet some of y'all in the future .

Hey man, Maryland is north AND east of my current location

I assumed GOLFER was talking about somewhere in the extreme NE, like Maine, but I just thought I would mention the MAHHA. He may also be talking about the really-extreme NE, like Greenland.

I'm planning a 50 mile hike on the AT from the CT/MASS line north to Upper Goose Pond. Just trying to iron out the dates.

not to worry HC4U, ya done good. MAHHA is driving distance from Western MA, for the dedicated, about 400 miles from Springfield MA.
