    Oh man. This reminds me of all the cat cuts vs parabolia vs bent stick arguments of past. Do some searching on that for some good engineer and math people vs the world discussions. All in good fun though.

    That is what I try to do will all my gear. I think it is easy to start making more and more complicated DIY gear. Stuff that sounds like a good idea to you, but in the end has too many parts, steps, or something to go wrong or weight the system down. I fell into this big time when I started. Now the simplier and easier it is to use and setup the better.
    Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
    The hanger formly known as "hammock engineer".

    Now I'm confused, the tarp you are making will be bigger than my HH hex.

    Well, you have the major battle won! Sewing.... uhhhhh, I mean... GEAR PRODUCTION is easy compared to that. My wife has hammocked one time for two nights and wasn't happy. She was cold, even with a down UQ at 45 degrees so I added a pad, which she continued to unconsciously shove out of the hammock taking the TQ with it. She's willing to try again at least so that's good.

    NO, Not based on the measurements you provided. I remarked that yours is huge-er than mine. Not many times that I guy will admit another guy's thing is bigger.

    Ridgeline:
    Yours=12' or 144" vs Mine 141"

    Tieout to Tieout:
    Yours=8' or 96" vs Mine 84"

    Width:
    Yours=11' vs Mine 10'

    Unless my ruler is broken yours is bigger
    I'm not arguing, just wondering if I'm missing something?

    Actually mine is only 9'6" wide (57" per side), but I was too embarrassed to admit it.
