    N. Az Girl looking for backpacking/hanging buddies!!

So I just moved back to Arizona recently after 7 years away and I'm up in the Tri city - Prescott area. I have time and gear, my husband has gear and no time. I'm primarily a backpacker and pretty much dedicated hammocker but I have no car and can't get out of town on my own nor do I (nor my hubby) want to go by myself. I'm looking for a small group of ladies and/or co-ed group to do weekend long and some week long backpacking trips with and even some camping trips. Anyone wanna hang with me? (pun thoroughly intended )

My son and I are just starting to backpack. We just did our first backpacking trip two weeks ago (we've car/comfy-camped many times). We are going to do one or two quick single-night trips in September. The 14/15, 21/22 and 28/29 are looking good to us. Anyone else down for a quick one with a couple noobs?

Hello, Sunshinehiker and Hubby! Just started on the forum myself. My wife isn't interested in any over night outing either. Just started to hang with Camo Meleon, had fun this passed weekend see threads from him and I. We are thinking of getting a hang organized for this state and need some people to jump in (like us) and get something started. Any suggestions greatly welcome. That area up there with you is the prime places we valley dwellers would love to have the chance to hang there.

The two of us seem to have most all weekends freed up to go.

I have no problems as to gender of my hiking friends, My Wife just says "GO!"

I guess after 34 years together there is unbreakable trust between us. We are the yin/yang to the T.

So I know I laid a lot out here, for a first text. BUT this is the time to be out there.

Think about it. If your hubby can't go, can he help organize before hang?

Camo Meleon and I, are looking to do something the weekend of Nov 2-3, either another day hang at a park here in Phx. OR with more people we could plan an overnighter up north. A good friend lives, in that big white geodesic dome, atop the hill, by the fork in the road there in Sedona AZ. A great place to park, and hike out from there.

PM either of us for more Info, or ideas.

    Thanks ONT

We know it's last minute,,, BUT We are going to set up a hang, for Saturday 11/2/13.
If interested in just meeting that's fine too.
Will get there at about opening and stay till about dark. Bring your stuff to play.
No boats here at Desert west park. Use the far east parking lot entrance off 65th Ave ( the light) turn south off of Thomas to entrance to park.
All is welcome + nice weather + nice people = good times. Bring your video equip. If you want to record any. We will be doing the same.
    I'm a noob at U-tube. (Hay! that's funny)

    Thanks ONT

I think people talk more S&*T on this forum, Than they actually DO. If you want to meet hiking buddies, then get off your ***, and get out here and meet us. !

Wow! I hadn't got a lot of response early on and then my life got crazy for a bit with finding our own place finally and moving, so I haven't check back in a while.

Gnome, Sounds great. Keep an eye out if I post any trips too.

oldntatted - dang, I really wish I had checked back sooner because the 2nd would have been great.

I only have gear to take me to freezing and up here in Prescott we hit below that last night so it may be next year before I can get out again, but I'm still up for it. Does anyone know a good trip in the Walnut Canyon area? It's one of my favs and I want to plan a March/April trip through there, but I'm not sure what trails/sections are the best.
