    Uses for an old hammock

Hi folks. If anyone has looked at my profile I was originally using a nylon rope hammock until I graduated to the parachute nylon hammock. It’s still in good condition but heavy compared to the other. It was also easily repairable over the years. I might still take it out for an occasional jaunt, but it is retired and ready to be pensioned off.

Any suggestions on how to recycle or reuse it in some way?

Hang it from the ceiling on pulleys for a gear loft.

gmcttr, that's a pretty cool idea. I have an old rope hammock I can do that with. Thank you.

You could cut it in half and make two smaller gear hammocks for camping. They could also double as https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=78262

I also think gmcttr has a great idea for my gear storage at home.

I hang mine underneath my main hammock when camping to use for storing gear. It also gives me the option of an extra hammock / seat

I used an old one as a weather shield with top entry bugnet and a synthetic UQ attached to it. Alas it too is being retired since I've acquired a down UQ.
