    Foothills Trail Question...

Looking to do the section of the Foothills Trail between Bad Creek Access and Canebrake Access. I know typically Canebrake Access is boat access only however I have read that there is a trail, Canebrake Access Trail, that begins from Frozen Creek Rd, goes for about 5 miles, and ends on the Foothills Trail at Canebrake.

Curious if anyone here has done this 5 mile section and could tell me more about the parking area on Frozen Creek Rd (safe, not safe, sufficient parking, no parking, i.e....) and what the trail hike is like. Just trying to do a little research and eliminate any surprises before I commit to leaving my vehicle here.

    Thanks for any help...

I've park their several times. Part of Gorges park no problems. 5 miles on logging road to Toxaway. Have good trip. BigRed77

    I agree with BigRed77.

Was just up there this weekend (Labor Day). Nice parking at Frozen Creek Trailhead- hardly anyone else there- no problems.

The 5 mile Canebreak Trail follows old roads, so it's not as scenic as the Foothills Trail. They'd put down gravel in parts which wasn't nice to walk on. But it's very well marked at least. And the campsites at Canebreak where the Toxaway River empties into the lake are gorgeous and absolutely worthwhile.

Hey Muskrat, I am hiking the trail in 2 weeks (starting Sept 15 from Table Rock). When are you planning to be there?
