Drip Tabs?

Why wouldn't these rubber tabs work in directing whoopie sling water down to the ground? Almost weightless. Rubber stretched over whoopie and slid down to bury under the tarp.

I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't work as long as you keep them under the tarp like you mentioned

Ya they will work fine, I usually have enough slack in either my tarp line or my whoopies to rig up some impromptu drip lines.

Cool, how much rain do you generally encounter. We get a fair bit in the Pacific Northwest.

They'd certainly stop running water from coming down the sling, but I'm not sure they'd keep you completely dry. I'd be worried that the sling itself could carry water through it and eventually reach the hammock. You'll stop most of it, and maybe even all of it.

I live on a plateau and we get some pretty big storms rolling through. I have my rig set up in the woods behind my house almost all the time and the only time anything gets wet is when a big fog bank rolls in.
That's basically like camping underwater so there's not much you can do about it.

Somebody somewhere mentioned using cotton sting attached to the slings and hanging down a few inches to redirect the water.
Sounds like that would be pretty effective to me.

They'd work great IMHO. Brainless too, which is great for me after a long hike. Although I've switched over to Dutch whoopie hooks, which provide a piece of hardware to act as a drip guard, make rigging the hammock super ez, and are easily remove from the hammock so there is NOTHING wet getting packed with my hammock not even amsteel whoopies. (they don't absorb water anyway).
