    First Wild Hang

First one out of the yard; 1 hour rest break for MRE pretzels and some orange drink. Bug free. 5 mins to find a pair of trees off the trail (Sourland Mtn in NJ, just a day hike sort of place), 7 mins to set up, 6 mins to tear down, 2 mins back to trail. Lovely.

Now to see if the pic I just added as an attachment actually appears in the post

Good looking rig there. Have you done any overnighters in your backyard or the field?
Also, are you taking a tarp just in case, or is this just a dayhike with no need for a tarp?

Only more comfort ahead of you now.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

My tarps are due "any minute now" via USPS. This was just a day hike.

Overnighters at home: several. Tweaking pad (1/8" cross-linked polyethylene, I have two for doubling up) shape, size, and placement. After several nights I managed a fair night's sleep with each night getting better. Amazing how much a tiny change in the suspension affects hang comfort. . .
