    Differential in Synthetic UQ

In the construction of an UQ using a synthetic insulation, how much of a differential does their need to be between the exterior fabric layers to maintain loft (especially for a bridge hammock UQ).

Additionally when sewing the fabric together along the edges with a differential, are yall using a small gather, dart or some sort of pleat?

I'd go with 2x your expected loft. For my synthetic TQ I used pleats to take up the difference.

And I'm assuming from what I have seen here in the site, that the differential is only necessary on the length of the uq or tq, and not at the head or foot?

Yes, for the differential cut on a UQ you're more concerned with accounting for the side-to-side curve of the occupied hammock than head-to-foot.

If you haven't seen it yet, maybe check out CWHammocks YouTube series on building a Climashield UQ.
