    Another Hanger In Minnesota

    Hello Everyone,
I wanted to stop and introduce myself. My name is Mark. I just got into the hammock hanger group a couple of months ago. I've ordered a WBBB XLC Dbl 1.7 and a Superfly to start. So far the Superfly has come but I think I'll receive notice of the XLC any day now.
Most all of my camping is done in the BWCA as a solo canoeist. I used to carry a four person tent but got tired of crawling around on the ground getting ready for sleep and the next day. Having bad knees that required a recent knee replacement only aggravated the situation. I've been a camper for over 40 years and this is the first real change I've made to my camping routine. The idea of less bulk in my gear and a cushy night of sleep really appealed to me. I have a short trip planned for October and will put the hammock to its first use then.
I'm looking forward to a good nights sleep and many trips with the XLC.

    Hey Beernuts,
I'm looking into hammock camping. The rig you ordered is what I've been looking at getting. Let me know how you like it once you get it. I'm 6'5" and I don't think just any hammock would work for me.

The BWCA is on my list of things to do.

Welcome to the forums! You'll like the WBBB and the Superfly - some of the best equipment out there.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Welcome Beernuts, from a Minnesotan transplanted away from the 10K lakes!

In my youth I used to get up into the BWCA for a week at the end of every summer. Didn't know enough to hammock then though. Sure fire way to enjoy the place even more.
