    Nest '09 thru hike

Nest left this morning to begin his hike! He's using the exact same set up at he used on last years thru:
Eno single, KAQ, MacCat tarp, straps and buckles.

I think the only thing he changed was his rain jacket!

Side note to Cannibal - he's skipping the AYCE. Something about if you're an alchoholic, stay away from the bars!

So, no 3 days of farewell meals and delaying the start this year!

Wow, that sounds like a nice, light setup! no pad, no UQ... does it keep him warm enough in the cold of April? Both April and May can be really cold on the AT in my experience...

Oops, my bad, just saw that the KAQ is an UQ, not a top quilt...

Enjoy your hike, Nest. Never go ground! Any attempt at a TJ this time around?

Do we have confirmation that he actually started hiking today? You know I'm suspicious, I know what kind of yogi-ing skills that boy has and question his ability to walk away from food! If you ever get the privilege of Nest's company, ask him how he used that hillbilly accent of his to score a free piece of pie. That guy is funny!

Hike on Nest! Have a great hike.

He's not big on writing his TJ's. Don't know if you looked at last years, but it was more of a photo journal. Some funny stuff in there.
