This is really great stuff! Thanks for the heads-up Tim and especially thanks to Ken for all the hard work. I've been thinking about a hike in the gorge for some time now. I'd be interested as well.

Ken's a great guy and it's a treat to hike and do trail work with him. I highly reccmd the data on his website.

Shug ... Ken turned me on to your videos and information. I've had to re-attach my arse a couple times after laughing it off! Thanks for the humor.
I'd love to meet you in the gorge sometime. So if you get a chance to come down this way ... please let us know. Love to see your input on Ken's Webpage if you get a chance. Heck maybe we can convert you to a "Gorge Rat"! It's definitely my favorite place in the world. Yeah and I love me a good onion too!

Slow-hike ... Hope to meet you up there ... or anywhere some day.

Have Brad tell ya about his first night in a Hammock, just before the Franklin Challenge ... which he won. Not sure the physics involved but it's an amazing thing to go to bed in a Hennessy and wake up face down in the netting!

Oh I heard. On our last trip, I showed him the ropes and things went much more smoothly to say the least. If we go up together in two weeks, hopefully I'll have a blackbird to show off to him.

Ha Ha... not the first time that's happened... waking up on the netting
But the hammock must have gave him the super rest he needed to win that challenge!!! I read about that!

I'd love to get back to the gorge! Lets plan a trip!!!
Most people try to avoid the hot summer days in the gorge because it's not that high in elevation (can get awful hot & muggy), & the terrain usually requires sweat producing work

Right now it looks like the only weekends I have committed are the 3rd & 4th weekends in April (Hot Springs & the Sat before), and the weekend of Trail Days (May 15-17).
Those that are interested, lets hear what dates work best & least for you.

Now I'm not as spry as Shug... I get along pretty well, & sometimes I have to pace myself slower so others I'm hiking w/ wont get exhausted. But I'm not much into high miles & pushing myself into fatigue
I'd much rather set a reasonable distance to shoot for & enjoy some down time in camp in the evening.
I kinda like to enjoy the morning around camp too

So if some wanting to go are in need of more challenge, maybe we could come in from two different directions & meet at a chosen destination.

Let me know what you think.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

We can see what folks think Tim. I too am committed the last weekend of
April. Also, I work Saturdays, and it's our busiest time of year. I could always
leave a little early on Saturday and get to most campsites in the gorge before dark.

My month from mid April to mid May is shot. Won't be in country till the 8th or 9th and then the 10th is the daughter's college graduation and wife's birthday on the 14th. Kind of a hecktic spring for sure.
