Hey all,
So I'm still figuring out all the little quirks and twists to make my hammock the right fit for me. I've decided that I really like using a structural ridgeline, but didn't like the idea of permanently attaching it to the hammock. I wanted a way that I could easily remove it and reattach it (like in case I wanted to make a diy sleeping back uq/tq).
So I was laying in my hammock thinking about it, and came up with this idea. I haven't seen it posted yet, so maybe I stumbled on something new-ish?
I tied my RL to a toggle (made from a dowel, I'll upgrade that to pvc or carbon fiber later), and strung it through the gathered end. Just loosened up the amsteel loop, slid the toggle thru, and cinched it back up.
And here's the pics...(please excuse the mess in the man cave)
This lets me remove it easily if I want, but stays put when it's attached. So whadya think? Any problems with it (other than the strength of the dowel)??
