    Poly straps soaking up water??

I have had some problems with flat 1" poly tree straps soaking up water and then soaking my hammock. I use cinch buckels for connecting to my hammock. The rain flows right down the tree, down the tree straps, then into my hammock. Its a real bummer! Its like a waterfall!

I have not had the same problem with tubular webbing, The tubular seems to hold water better without being a waterfall into my hammock.

    Any suggestions?

The cinch buckels are under the tarp. The rain shot past the cb and down to the hammock. I have never used drip lines before, I just relied on the slippy half hitch on the cb. Kept me dry for many a storms. I never had this problem with tubular webbing, but recently switched to flat webbing and now having problems. maybe a few extra drip lines would help.
