PHillipStart I hope its Brucie! and a great vid is made.
I agree...dry baking is superior to steam baking. At one time dry baking was much more complicated and heavier. Now all you need is time.....so let it bake while you get and treat water, setup the 'house', etc.
We didn't do such great timing for the cobbler post the steak but it was still warm enough...I'm scheming a cozy for the baking dish as coffee/cocoa mug, it can do double duty and keep the muffin/Pineapple Upside Down/etc. warm too.

Extra great video, MedicineMan! It looks to me like you’re more than a little bit hooked on the camp baking. The camp time-lapse was fantastic. Good to see you found an egg ring. What could be better than to fire up my morning with a marvellous, MedicineMan movie, Thank You!

I've hiked the Roan highlands many times and every time feels like the first. In my mind, I could feel the cool air and serenity watching your video. Thanks for sharing MedicineMan.

How great it could be, if we could all hike together. You have some nice country over there, I'm just not so sure about the bears, i think i prefer the snakes, spiders, dingos and leeches over your bears.

Your chances of coming up on a bear are probably the same chances of me coming up on a Brown or a Tiger snake.
I'd been hiking on the AT for 27 years and had my first bear encounter in Massachusetts-he turned 180 and bolted through the laurel thickets.....would the Brown or Tiger have done same?

No they would not, they would hold there ground and bite if your within range and its very likely you would see them. Its just your bears are a lot bigger.

one more question observation-comparison between bear and snake encounters when skin and punctures are involved.
How many people survive Brown or Tiger bites?
Many people get 'mauled' by bears and live; scratches (sometimes deep) and bites.
