    Thunderbird, Thunderbird, Thunderbird!

About to pull the trigger on a T-bird... But I'm torn on 11ft/10ft and DL/SL. I'm 5'9 165# and have suffered chronicly from shoulder squeeze and calf ridge. Calf ridge is not a leg comfort issue but the ridge disallows my UQ to sealing to the hammock.

DL 1.0 or SL 1.6 . I want something that sturdy that will last but I'm also kinda weight conscious.

If you do end up going with a DL 1.1, I've got a few more fabrics in that aren't posted on the fabric page yet.
1.1oz Black, now in 68" wide
    1.1oz Olive, 64/65" wide
    1.1oz Brownish Green, 65/66" wide
1.1oz Coyote, 64" wide (only like 4 yards left)
1.1oz Olive Brown, 64" wide? (only like 4 yards left)

Go for the 11' DL, shoulder squeeze and calf Ridge are gone for me. Light enough and plenty strong.

Kinda what I wanted to hear!
Curious though what width did you go with?

Or anybody else for the matter. Do you think guys think more of less width would decrease the possibility of shoulder squeeze?

Since you use an UQ I would go with SL no need for the extra weight of all that fabric. Oh, 11 ft for sure. I'm 5'9" and all my hammocks are 11'ers. I'd never go back to a 10'

I'm 5'11" and I just went back to a 10' hammock after trying an 11' er. I did go with a 62" wide fabric which equates to about a 60" finished width hammock. While my chosen model was a Roaming gnome I think it is the biggest feeling hammock I've been in. Single layer for use with an under quilt. I went with the Marpat fabric which puts the capacity well over 300 lbs. I really like how soft the Marpat feels with little stretch. I think it is around 32 ounces with suspension. Just my 2 cents.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

I have a SL thunderbird with a 1.8 poly taffeta that PS never advertised as one of his standard fabrics. I may have the only production version with that material. I am 5'6" about 170# and I love this hammock! Very flat and in the right angle, not shoulder squeeze or calf ridge. The material feels great. The poly easily feels as non-stretchy as a DL 1.1. It is my go-to hammock.

EDIT: I believe the width is 60" and the length is 10'.

I really gotta find some time and get these 4 or 5 new fabrics up on my site.
Space4DaPoppa is right on the money about that Polyester Taffeta.

I've spent more than a few nights in a single layer of this 1.8oz fabric and I weigh 265lbs. Feels firmer than many of the other fabrics I carry.
