I scored a Golite Bitterroot Hooded Jacket (~5.3oz of 850 DWR down), and Borah Gear Down Pants (3oz of 850 DWR down) for Christmas. Now I just need to finalize my DIY down socks and decide on which neoprene socks/overboots to use and I'll be all ready for this trip!
Also, my wife gave me some money for Christmas to buy Waterproof/Breathable Cuben fiber for my upcoming hammock shelter...more details to come.

Still waiting on my custom Warbonnet Spindrift sock. Ordered it after the BSF hike in November so hopefully I will receive it within the next couple of weeks to try out for a test hang. I got pounds of down from head to toe, so I should be good to go.
I did a day hike today on Buffalo mountain on the Loan Oak Trail and experienced a temperature inversion. It was cold enough to see your breath at the base of the trail at low elevation, but when we got to the top of the mountain it was tee shirt weather. That was strange...
Welcome to true insanity FPG!
We're up to 13 now....just think if everyone carried a firelog up
No, 14....Crackerbilly too I think.
Have been wanting to upgrade from roan 800 to the bitterroot water resistant and save half a pound. Great score!
That's a great idea MedicineMan. I think a split hardwood log or two per person should be doable and would make for a needed fire Friday evening. I'm in on that one.
Problem is our late arrival....last year everyone else was in deep sleep by the time we got there AND no one, not a single soul came out to greet us. Wonder why that was ??
...well heck. I was expecting a drum circle around a bon fire when we get there. I already had my two pieces of hardwood picked out. Wishful thinking
I'd been looking at the Roan, but was supper excited to get the Bitterroot.
Not sure why that is. I'm looking forward to the trip no matter what time I get to arrive. Sleep and a warm hammock will be enticing.
Fire on the mountain seems difficult with the wind...or so I've heard.
They called me Hickery cause I burned all night long ! Oh I got some locusts .
