Nubé Hang

In celebration of SMr's incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign, I will be organizing a group Nubé hang, date and location to be determined. It will be sometime after Richard and Juli return from Nicaragua and my initial location suggestion would be somewhere near Vicksburg, MS so it will be convenient for them.

And so it begins.

If you're looking for suggestions, try Rocky Springs (north of Port Gibson - south of Clinton) on the Natchez Trace. 22 sites and all have trees. Some set up better than others but a very pretty spot. Some short hikes right there at the site (avg. 2 mile loops) and streams to play in.

I believe there is a nice spot near Grand Gulf outside Port Gibson as well (so I've heard) but I don't know much on it.

I cant wait to add their system to the gear room and of course even more excited to USE it! Being that 50% of my family is in Vicksburg, the area is special to me! So the Vicksburg area has my vote.

Hi everyone! I'm so glad the Nube was funded and can't wait to try it out. So I am from the Boston area, which makes it quite difficult to get down to where y'all are talking about having this meet up. Was wondering if the exact date and place could be relatively forthcoming, and then I might be able to make a trip out of it. I know it's too early for that, but if I had enough of a jump start that would be fantastic, because who doesn't want to see a Nube City?!

I am one of the backers of the Nubé and can't wait for delivery of my kit in January. Are you thinking about a hang in the Spring or are you thinking sometime sooner? I'm in Houston but would road trip for a Nubé hang.

The plan is to hang when Juli and Richard get back from Nicaragua in 5 months or so. Date is really loose at this point so group interest and availability will determine the when.

Thanks for getting this started BFGMofo!!! Juli and I are really excited about this!
As you have stated the dates need to be flexible, but late Spring should work (and should be perfect hammock camping weather).

This needs to be in an EPIC location, SO periodically throughout the next 5-6 months our team will do a little research on "the perfect" Nubé hang spot. Hopefully everyone interested will chime in as well, so we can make this an unforgettable time! (The first place that comes to my mind is the campsite immediately north of Max Patch on the AT..)

We would also love to do a local Nubé hang here around Vicksburg. The area DaddyDaddy mentioned is a great spot.

I wanted to purchase one through the campaign, but couldn't come up with the money in time. I'm glad it funded, and am hoping they will eventually be sold through Smr's site

Safe travels Richard and stay in touch while you are in Nicaragua. This will most definately be an epic event. Can't wait to see all the Nubés perched in the trees.
