Something else you might try with 1.1 is simply running a double layer across the center of the hammock and not dual layering it all the way out to both edges. In theory this would actually enhance the flat lay of the hammock allowing for less stretch where the most weight it places and more stretch on the sides.

I had originally thought about doing a 1.9oz center of about 24-28" with another 17-21" of 1.1oz on the edges. I was worried about having a seam rip. Double layering the center and only sewing the ends would potentially resolve that issue and still reduce the weight of the hammock considerably.

Then again, this is coming from a guy who is only 165-170.
