    Scout setup

I just picked up a scout for my little boy. I've watched the setuo videos. Should I still be looking for 30* angle on the suspension. The videos look like they pull it tight and horizontal. Basically a straight line from anchor point to anchor point.

We always hang ours close to the 30*. The kids sleep great in them, regularly 12+ hours.

I don't know about the scout as its a symetrical hammock, but I always liked my HH's a bit tight compared to the normal 30. I've heard reports from others (who i hope chime in) that they do the same. Overall it is whatever makes you comfortable.

Hang any Hennessy straight and level, snug but not very tight. The ridge line tied into the ends of the hammock and suspension ropes set the sag ("comfort curve") of the hammock bofy so that it is the same every time. Personally, I like to hang the foot a little bit higher than the head, but that is me.

Thanks for the tips. I think I've got it figured out. Not near as comfy and spacious as my eno dn, but should work great for my little boy.

with the ridgeline straight, the angle shouldn't matter.... that's the whole point of the ridgeline (to keep it the same every time). I too prefer the foot end a bit higher than the head (so you don't slide down onto your feet overnight).

I have a scout bottom entry for my 8 year old. He loves it. he has said many times about coming out of the bottom entry is like being rebirthed again. Something that you can add to for your son is a set of the twilight lights from eno. very cool for him to have them hanging in his hammock.
