Lightbulb .6 Cuben Snake Skins for Black Bird

    Joe Valesko from http://www.zpacks.com/
might be making me some Cuben Snake Skins for my 1.1 single Black Bird.

He said he could probably make these for me but i would need to explain the design well for him. I sent him a the DIY guide i found here http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=1408

I was looking for help making the perfect custom fit for my hammock, and i was wondering if anyone with the same hammock as I could help.

Also do you guys think some sort of pull tabs on the middle ends would be helpful for making the skins easier to use?

Can't comment on the specifics of a design of skins for a BB, but I have used skins on a HH and have handled cuben and can tell you for sure that tabs will make them easier to use.

How long do you think I should get them? The two guides show different material lengths, 72" or 84".

Also do you guys think i should go for 1 pull tab on the wide end of each skin or two on each for easier use?

I'm guessing cord pockets wouldn't work with the webbing on the blackbird, so best to skip pockets for hammock skins?

You should be able to make pockets for the webbing. I've seen a black bishop bag that had pockets for that.....just have to wind the webbing and stick it in.

I suppose but the bishop bag is a lot wider so the pockets would be a lot bigger.

Can any1 tell me how long i should these skins should be for the BB?

never used skins before, i would look at the ridgeline length of hh hammocks and the length of the corresponding snake skin and try to convert that to the 101" rl of the bb.

Not necessarily. The one I remember seeing had basically separate pockets for the webbing sewn onto the bag. You could easily do the same with skins I'd imagine.
