RAWs pocket quilts for the NA

I guess in really cold temps I could forego the pockets if the quilt would keep me warm.
This was a fabulous idea! I used them in 37* weather, kept me warm all night. I did put my fleece under my sleeping bag at my legs, because I did notice the cold spot at my legs and it was more comfortable to fill in that gap.

I wanted to see how warm just the pocket quilts were without any other gear and I was snug as a bug! It will be fun this fall/winter to play around with it some more

I'm glad that you like 'em, Sarah. I'm gonna have a larger set made up for my NX-200. One of these days, I'll have worked out the best single-digit system for myself.

A body can get used to a lot. I keep my house pretty seasonal, with the thermostat at 48 or 50 at night in the winter, and at 80 in the summer. I've noticed that I don't get nearly as cold hanging on a spring camping trip as I do on a fall trip using the same sleep system at the same temp. I think it's just acclimation.

sarahgirl, question on those pillows for the pockets
What is the size, were they made to fit the whole inside of the pocket and do they stay in place or tend to sag down to the bottom/center of the hammock? I'm thinking I may need to make at least one to go inside the pocket with my boots. I finished an uq (summer weight) and got to test it once. It covers the pocket openings but I can still move is around and put things inside the pockets. the boots make the quilt stick out really far and I need something in that pocket.

thanks Raw, those pictures are worth a thousand words.. My friend has just ordered the NA and I need to show her these pictures too.
hummm, I'm gonna have to give some thought to how to connect the pillow in my tropical, my pockets have a flap w/velcro. (to keep out those pesky spiders) Maybe an extension of silnylon at the top that can go over the top of the pocket and attach to the velcro?? Gotta go hang up my hammock in the backyard again.... (like I needed an excuse)
