    Going to ground!!

Well i know this has been discussed already, but finally (i think/ hope) my dilemma has been solved.

I ordered last year from HG a hex tarp with less hex in it than usual and keeping the ridgeline to 10' ( I know this is pushing it for some) but i think this is well in my comfort zone for length.

So now i have my all round hammock tarp with going to ground potential.
especially if i go back to the UK to do any camping. Or a planned hike here where there are no trees.

I will carry with me an inner net when the potential for grounding happens
Right now i am looking at HMG's inner 2 or a Bearpaw wilderness inner tent.
Either one should be under 16oz.

The center height at one end is 41" and the other end is 32"

So here is my Hammock tarp grounded:

I read in a comment on a blog once someone used their tube netting to create an inner tent, saving the hammock and keeping out the bugs. It's one of the reasons I chose my Freebird.

Yes i was thinking about the use of a netting sock or the hammock itself.
But i was also thinking for my wife and I, 2 could easily sleep in an good inner tent if we had too, Using one tarp.
Or i could have lots of room by myself.
My ideal is to have something with a cuben bathtub style floor.
It seem when i go camping and its raining. It's never just a light rain. It pours.

I don't think they make it anymore,,but I still have and use when the need arises,,a golite Shangri-La 2 bug net A frame style with built in floor (2 person) for exactly what your attempting to do using your tarp as its the same setup I use when above tree lines in the summer or where ever I had to go to the ground where bugs abound and just cover it with a tarp..works perfect. The wife is picky and this suffices and keeps her at peace when we use it. Also keep ready to use,,a couple of BA insulated Air Core mats with the TQ's and we are good to go. Weight 32 oz.
