    Question about large tarp

I have just ordered a WBXLC and need to decide whether I need to purchase a tarp for it. I have a large Hilleberg tarp that's about 14 X 14. How useable will that be with a hammock?

If you would recommend a different tarp, what would be your ideal suggestion?

    Re: Question about large tarp

The tarp you have will work, but may be a little on the large side, the longer the tarp ridgeline, the higher you have to hang it for hammock suspension clearance.

The warbonnet superfly would be a perfect partner for your xlc.

I love my superfly, but I am still trying to figure out how to rig the doors. I am just waiting for a chance to go out and use it!

If your tarp is a 14x14 rectangle and not a shaped tarp with a measurement of approx 14x14 then tarp you have will be very useable and work just fine, go hang in confidence that you will stay dry and have a huge living space under that thing. If it is shaped you may have a few difficulties with getting it pitched right, but you could make it work.

Should you want to upgrade at some point there are many tarps that are made by our wonderful cottage vendors that would work just fine. You would just need to determine what your needs and wants are to fine tune your decision.

+1 for the Superfly. My son uses one. It's big and light and awesome. I use the Warbonnet Edge (maybe too small for the XLC?), and like the ease of setup. Also, is super light.

Depending on how many tie outs across the bottom of each side,,you should have plenty to be able to make doors closed for both ends,,hang away and enjoy the large tarp,,when it rains or snows,,you can cook and keep house under it sitting in your hammock or stool or what ever,,plenty of room to get out of the inclimate weather. Hang it as high as you want,,as you will have 7' sides for excellent coverage and you will be able to stand under it with room to spare.
